Better orientation data starts at capture.
Sanctuary Camera is an optional Android camera app for Sanctuary Design, part of Sanctuary Systems. It helps contractors take more consistent site photographs and gives Sanctuary Design extra information for photo registration and rendering. It is not required.

Ask to be notifiedKeep the phone oriented correctly
Live orientation feedback shows left/right and forward/back tilt while you take the photo, instead of discovering a badly tilted capture later.
Optional, but useful when render accuracy matters
A normal phone camera still works. Sanctuary Camera adds live orientation guidance so you can correct the phone before capture and follow a repeatable field-photo process.
- Shows left/right orientation feedback.
- Shows forward/back orientation feedback.
- Displays heading and orientation during capture.
- Writes additional capture information into the JPEG.
- Gives Sanctuary Design better source information for registration and rendering.
The JPEG carries more than the picture
Sanctuary Camera embeds additional capture metadata in the JPEG. Sanctuary Design uses it in the registration workflow, helping make rendered views of real site photographs more consistent and accurate.
A more repeatable capture workflow
Standardized capture reduces variation between employees and between visits to the same property, and it does not require the person taking the picture to become a camera or CAD specialist.
Use it when it helps. Skip it when it does not.
Sanctuary Camera enhances the Sanctuary Design workflow. It does not gate it.
Part of Sanctuary Systems
Use it with Sanctuary Design, while Sanctuary Business Capture handles the business records around the work. Back to Sanctuary Systems, or visit Sanctuary Outdoor.
Common questions
No. A normal phone camera still works with Sanctuary Design. Sanctuary Camera is an optional enhancement.
Yes. It is written for Android phones.
It shows left/right and forward/back tilt and heading while you shoot, and it writes additional capture information into the JPEG.
Sanctuary Design aligns a rendered plan with a real site photograph. Knowing how the phone was oriented gives that registration step better starting information.
